Dramatic Reading and Discussion:
25 Questions for Jewish Mothers @ BAJC
“What makes a Jewish mother different from a non-Jewish mother?” On Sunday, February 17th, at 3 pm, BAJC will host members of Temple Israel of Greenfield, MA, in a smart, touching play called “25 Questions for Jewish Mothers”. The hour-long play, by Judy Gold, a gay Jewish comedian trying to grasp how she fits in with other Jewish mothers, explores the many faces of secular and religious Jewish identity, particularly of mothers, and all the stereotypes that are the subject of jokes. The play will be followed by a 90-minute conversation about the universe and the diverse particulars of Jewish motherhood. There will be a potluck dessert oneg during the discussion. Don’t miss this performance, which got great reviews when it was performed in Greenfield. Participants and audience found that they could not stop talking about all the memories and life stories the play stimulated! There is no charge and all are welcome. Reservations are appreciated but not required. Call 464-2632 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We can seat 50 people. Please welcome Temple Israel’s first Readers Theater program to BAJC. Director Susan Hollins is inviting three BAJC members to join the play-reading. Contact her at SuefromNH@aol.com if you are interested in participating.
